From 9–11 June 2026, representatives from the Language Institute, Chiang Mai University (LICMU), led by Assistant Professor Sakorn Ruanklai, Director of the Language Institute, together with Mr. Karim Hussain, General Manager, Ms. Pariyaporn Supamongkol, Head of Academics, and staff members, visited partner universities in Hokkaido, Japan, including Fuji Women’s University, Hokkaido University, Hokkaido University of Education, Hokkaido Bunkyo University, and Hokusei Gakuen University.
The visit aimed to strengthen academic partnerships, explore opportunities for student mobility, and promote Chiang Mai University’s international programs. During the visit, the delegation conducted Thai Language and Culture Workshops and Lanna Flag Making activities, introducing Thai language and cultural heritage to Japanese students. The activities received enthusiastic participation and positive feedback.
The delegation also promoted a range of international programs, including the Global Sustainability School, English and Internship Program, and various short-term language and cultural programs, creating new opportunities for future academic and cultural exchanges.
This visit marks another important milestone in strengthening cooperation between Chiang Mai University and its Japanese partner institutions, paving the way for future collaborations in education, student exchange, and intercultural learning.
