สถาบันภาษา มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ เป็นศูนย์กลางการเรียนรู้ การพัฒนาทักษะและศักยภาพในการใช้ภาษาต่างประเทศ สำหรับนักศึกษา บุคลากร ทั้งภาครัฐและเอกชน ตลอดจนประชาชนทั่วไป เพื่อการศึกษา การประกอบอาชีพ การติดต่อสื่อสารและปฏิสัมพันธ์ด้านวัฒนธรรม ตลอดจนเป็น ศูนย์กลางเชื่อมต่อการเรียนรู้ด้าน ภาษากับสถาบันภาษาทั้งในและต่างประเทศ บริการแปล ล่าม หนังสือโต้ตอบทางธุรกิจบริการศูนย์การเรียนด้วยตนเองและคลินิกภาษา จัดการเรียนการสอน โดยสอนโดยอาจารย์เจ้าของภาษาเป็นหลัก เน้นผู้เรียนเป็นสำคัญ และการจัดกระบวนการเรียนรู้ ด้วยกิจกรรม บูรณาการความรู้ความเข้าใจในวัฒนธรรมของเจ้าของภาษาควบคู่ไปกับความรู้ และ ทักษะในการใช้ภาษา

          Language Institute Chiang Mai University (LICMU) is a learning center for developing skills and proficiency in using foreign languages for students, personnel in both public and private sectors as well as the general public for education, occupation, communication, and cultural interaction. LICMU is also a center for facilitating language learning for both local and international educators and partner institutions. LICMU also has a translation and editing service center in order to support academics and business needs. LICMU classes are mainly taught by native speakers and focuses on creating a student-centered classroom, through organizing the learning process by integrating knowledge and understanding of the culture of native speakers along with knowledge and skills in using the language being taught.

         清迈大学语言学院 是专为社会各界人士提高个人潜在语言能力的语言服务中心。清迈大学语言学院主要依托自身的优质的教学资源开设翻译、商务洽谈、第二外语语法等语言培训课程。学院拥有一批经验丰富的教师，所有语言课程均由外教授课，能够跟随外教深入了解目的语国家的文化。
